Whether you prefer fresh or frozen, the perfectly seasoned corn is sweet, tender, and slightly charred to give it that extra zing you long for. Eaten as a side dish or added to salsas, tacos, salads, and more, Skilled Charred Corn is an easy and delicious way to spice things up with this versatile veggie hack. Don't get burned out on all the ordinary corn sides! Char some corn tonight and bring your dinner back to life!
Ingredients
- 3 cups corn, fresh or frozen
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
- chili powder, optional, to taste
- paprika, optional, to taste
- cumin, optional, to taste
- cilantro leaves, optional, to taste, for garnish
Directions
Step 1 -If the corn is fresh, on a cutting board with a sharp knife, cut the kernels from the cobs. If the corn is frozen, no thawing is necessary.
Step 2 -In a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat, add the corn, the salt, the black pepper, the chili powder, the paprika, and the cumin, and cook, while stirring constantly, until lightly charred, about 5-6 minutes.
Step 3 -Serve garnished with the cilantro.
